New Student Orientation

Welcome to Creighton University!

Since 1947 at the very first "Week of Welcome for Freshmen" Creighton has provided orientation and welcome sessions for its newest students...  Today, our mission is to help New Jays with their transition into the Creighton Community.  We hope to empower both students and families with the skills, knowledge, and resources that will enable our students to be successful at Creighton academically, socially, spiritually, and recreationally. Recognizing that we at Creighton are charged with helping educate the whole person, New Student Orientation seeks to give New Jays a "head start" in their transition to Creighton!

Letter from the Coordinators

Dear New Bluejays,

Congratulations on your decision to come to Creighton! We are so excited to welcome you into this community and show you all what Creighton has to offer. As Creighton?s New Student Orientation Coordinators, our goal is to help you feel comfortable at Creighton and begin to see it as your new home as you embark on this incredible journey.

Throughout Summer Preview, you will have the opportunity to meet your future classmates along with professors, Jesuits, and staff. You will get to experience a day in the life of a Creighton student and learn how Creighton can help you grow and pursue your passions. During Welcome Week, you will be officially welcomed to Creighton and aided in your college transition. Most importantly, you will get the opportunity to see the value of community at Creighton. We hope that after Summer Preview and Welcome Week, you will feel comfortable here and ready to begin your college career.

Creighton University is exceptional because of the Jesuit values put into action every day. Values such as Cura Personalis, or "care of the whole person", can be seen in daily interactions between the supportive faculty and staff and our students. Creighton students are challenged to learn and grow during their time here, and we are excited to introduce you to some of the many opportunities you will encounter.

We believe that our theme this year, "Dare Greatly", embodies the Jesuit values and encourages our students to courageous learn through the various opportunities available to them. New Bluejays, we invite you to keep this theme in mind as you take your first steps on campus this Summer and next Fall. These next four years will go by quickly, so do not be afraid to be vulnerable and step outside your comfort zone. At Creighton, when you Dare Greatly you'll be amazed at what you can find.

Let us be the first people to say that we cannot wait to welcome you into Creighton's community!

Sincerely,

Max Donnelly, Emily Newcomb, Rebecca Hare, and Nick Hirner
