Purpose:
- This purpose of this committee is to lead efforts to fulfill the division’s strategic goal of embracing inclusion in thoughts and actions. The committee's primary responsibility is to thoughtfully and intentionally develop and support efforts in the realm of diversity, equity, and inclusion, all which are integral to all student experiences and the creation of an inclusive campus environment. The Embracing Inclusion Committee will:
- Engage with and support the efforts of Intercultural Student Engagement Council via the Council Advisor
- Revisit the philosophical underpinnings of the GO! Program and propose updates
- Implement the GO! Program, including providing programs, tracking data and assessing the effort
- Train staff in effectively integrating conversations about the GO! Program in performance evaluations
- Liaise with the Vice Provost for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion to ensure efforts are consistent with university efforts
- Coordinate communication about diversity and inclusion programs and opportunities
