CliftonStrengths for Students

As part of the first-year experience at Creighton, the SLIC is providing all freshmen students the opportunity to do the CliftonStrengths for Students assessment. Created by Gallup, CliftonStrengths for Students analyzes the results of a survey to identify the top five strengths of an individual, from a list of 34 total strengths.  These strengths highlight what someone is naturally inclined to succeed at, and we are excited for first-year students to learn their Strengths through this tool.  This is a new tool shared with all first-year students; we are collaborating with partners across campus to infuse Strengths into various aspects of campus life, including an introduction to Strengths workshop in February.

All freshmen are asked to complete the CliftonStrengths for Students assessment by the end of the first week of classes during the spring semester- by January 12th.  Strengths Week will be February 11-17, with a variety of workshops and other sessions being held to introduce students to their Strengths.  The spring semester will contain a variety of Strengths programming to introduce students to what the results of the assessment mean to them and dive into cultivating a richer awareness for each student.  Campus partners involved in the launch of this new program include the Division of Student Life, Department of Residential Life, the John P. Fahey Career Center, the Creighton EDGE, Campus Ministry and more.

If you have any questions or comments about the Strengths initiative on Creighton's campus, please feel free to contact Joey Kimes, Assistant Director of Leadership Programming, at joeykimes@creighton.edu.
