Tobacco-Free Policy of Creighton University

The Tobacco-Free Campus policy went into effect in 2008, banning the use of tobacco and tobacco products on campus. With support from a resolution by CSU and the work of the Tobacco-Free Campus Committee, University leadership revised the policy in 2014 to include a system of enforcement measures to ensure adherence to the policy.  It can be viewed at:

Effective July 1, 2014, Public Safety Officers who observe students, faculty and staff using tobacco products on campus property may issue citations similar to a parking ticket with a fine of $24.00.   The fine will be discounted by 50 percent if it is paid within 24 hours. These fines will be used to support tobacco cessation programming.
