Here you'll find what you need to know about Student Counseling Services and the services we offer the Creighton University community. We provide individual counseling, group counseling, academic counseling, crisis intervention, and a variety of other services.
Most students come to Student Counseling Services for assistance with some identifiable concern. Some typical concerns include self-esteem issues, relationships, stress and anxiety, loneliness, depression, eating disorders and alcohol or drug abuse. We offer assessment and psychological evaluation for academic success difficulties and mental health issues. Couples and family therapy are also available when appropriate.
Creighton's Counseling Services is an outpatient mental health service dedicated to treatment of enrolled Creighton undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. We do our best to serve the entire student population, but there are limitations to our availability given there are over 8,000 students at our university. Given these limitations, we do have a waitlist at times.
For students who would prefer to see a counselor in the community who may have more availability or specializations, we have created a Community Resource Guide to help in this process, where you can find "How To" steps, resourceful links, and our list of community referrals.
